Is Dhurandhar Real Story of Major Mohit Sharma?
First let me know what you think. Dhurandhar movie is based on some artefacts but I had watched this movie yesterday and to be very honest I have not found any evidence or any story line which proves it is a story of Major Mohit Sharma.
The movie released in few parts where the as per the movie it appears that the conclusion is already explained ot the audience but the most intresting part about the story is the next part is releasing on 19th March 2026. Which is only 3 months from now.
It is the most long movie screen cast of 3 hours and 34 minutes and makes it one of the longest hindi films in the last 17 years as per the records.
Movie starts from the scene where the ranveer singh is going to the pakistan as a spy and want to be a part of the most popular active gang's in the 20th century.
Let me explain it to you from the beginning why is Dhurandhar is not a real story of Major Mohit Sharma
The Mission & Infiltration
After crossing into Pakistan, Hamza Ali Mazari (Ranveer Singh) arrives in Lyari, the notorious gangland of Karachi. His handler, Ajay Sanyal (R. Madhavan), has given him a singular objective: infiltrate the local crime syndicates to reach the actual power centers of Pakistan—the ISI. Hamza targets Rehman Dakait (Akshaye Khanna), the ruthless don of Lyari. Through sheer grit and violence, Hamza rises through the ranks, eventually becoming Rehman’s most trusted right-hand man and a "brother" to him.
The Betrayal
As Hamza solidifies his position, he secretly collaborates with SP Chaudhary Aslam (Sanjay Dutt), a corrupt but effective encounter specialist, and Jameel Jamali (Rakesh Bedi), a rival politician. The goal is not just to kill Rehman but to usurp his throne. In a tense climax, they ambush Rehman outside the city. Hamza plays a double game: he ensures Rehman is mortally wounded but then dramatically rushes him to the hospital to maintain his cover and win the sympathy of the Lyari public.
The Ending & Twist
Rehman dies, and Hamza returns home, emotionally broken by the guilt of killing the man who treated him like family. He collapses in the arms of his partner, Yaalina (Sara Arjun). However, the final scene flips the narrative.
In the dead of night, Hamza opens a secret diary and uses invisible ink to reveal a hit list. He strikes out the name "Rehman Dakait." It is revealed that killing Rehman was merely Step 1. The next name on the list is Major Iqbal (Arjun Rampal), a high-ranking ISI official.
Conclusion & Part 2 Setup
The movie ends with the revelation that Hamza is now the new "Don of Lyari," a position he needed solely to get close enough to the ISI to dismantle the terror network from the top. This sets the stage for Dhurandhar Part 2 (releasing March 19, 2026), which will feature the direct face-off between Hamza and Major Iqbal.
Why it feels different from Major Mohit Sharma's Story
Your confusion is justified because the film changes key facts:
- Real Life: Major Mohit Sharma used the alias Iftikhar Bhatt and infiltrated Hizbul Mujahideen in Kashmir, not a Karachi gang.
- Movie: Ranveer plays Jaskirat Singh Rangli (alias Hamza) who infiltrates a crime syndicate in Pakistan (Karachi).
- The "Evidence": The film is technically "inspired by true events" (likely Operation Lyari and Indian intelligence activities in Pakistan) rather than being a factual biography of Major Mohit Sharma.
